The IATAN Travel Agent ID Card is part of a global program that identifies working personnel associated with IATAN Airline Appointed Agencies and Travel Sales Intermediary (TSI) Agencies.

What is the IATAN Travel Agent ID Card used for?

It is specifically used to identify travel agents that are engaged in the sale of travel-related services. It is used by travel agents to request-reduced rates and other concessions from travel industry suppliers who participate in the ID Card Program. Please note, however, that industry discounts are a privilege, not a right. IATAN does not determine reduced-fare offers or discount policies of travel industry suppliers. Each supplier establishes its own policy and procedures on an individual basis.

Is there a fee for the IATAN Travel Agent ID Card?

Yes, there is a nominal fee to apply for a new card, to renew an expiring card, to reissue a card if moving to a new agency, or to replace a lost or stolen ID Card. (IATAN ID Card Program Fee Schedule)

As an Independent Contractor, may I accumulate the yearly earnings for ID Card eligibility solely from the agency to which I am registered or can I incorporate the earnings from other agencies as well?

As an Independent Contractor, it is understood that you may have dealings with other travel agencies and/or suppliers. IATAN will recognize and accept only proof of earnings from other accredited travel agencies, i.e. ARC accredited or IATAN endorsed agencies, to qualify you for the set minimum yearly earning requirement for the Travel Agent ID Card.

How long is my ID Card valid? How do I renew it?

Your card is valid for 12 months from the month of issue and 6 months for the interim card. To simplify the renewal process, IATAN notifies you approximately 8 - 10 weeks prior to the expiration date of the card. IATAN has three renewal options available to you:

• Priority Renewal by Fax
• Mailing your renewal application

When would I need my Travel Agent ID Card reissued?

A Travel Agent ID Card would need to be reissued when there are any types of changes made to it.

What if my Travel Agent ID Card is lost or stolen?

Should you unfortunately lose or have your Travel Agent ID Card stolen, IATAN will issue a replacement card for a minimal fee.

What other benefits are included with the IATAN ID Card?
